IT as strategic partner – leadership op for communicators

I just did a new post on the Communitelligence Communication Skills Blog. We’ve been doing a lot of work lately with IT professionals and last week a colleague put out a query about working with IT. It is obviously a hot topic.

Some of what I talk about in my post is reflected in this post by Al Krueger. I don’t agree with Al that we need to be coders, but I do agree with his comments that we need a working knowledge of social technology and we must know enough to communicate requirements. My focus is on using technology inside our organizations. I believe some of these technologies have the potential for even greater impact inside, making our partnership with IT that much more strategic and necessary.
